Monday night we were showing a bunch of school kids what some of the sky looked like through telescopes. A fellow club member, Brian, thought he could see a shadow transit on the surface of Saturn. He came over to Chris and asked if he had ever seen one on the surface of Saturn. This sparked a bit of interest. We all took turns at looking through his scope. It seemed to me like it was about ¾ of the way up and slightly to the right of centre. But which moon could it have been? Or was it a moon at all or just a shadow from the rings? Or perhaps something else?

Some transit images can be seen here: http://saturn.cstoneind.com/
